Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC)
Polyvinyl chloride is the world’s third-most widely produced synthetic polymer of plastic. About 40 million tons of PVC are produced each year. PVC comes in two basic forms: rigid and flexible. The rigid form of PVC is used in construction for pipe and in profile applications such as doors and windows.
Types :
- Emulsion Polyvinyl Chloride (E-PVC)
- Suspension Polyvinyl Chloride (S-PVC)
Applications :
As the most widely used polymers in the world, PVC and UPVC have many applications and are used in all aspects of our lives today, such as food, clothing, interior decorations, packaging, etc. PVC and UPVC are among the most widely used polymers and the first choice of manufacturers due to their unique and diverse properties. Today, from the hardest objects to the softest coatings and the thinnest fibers with general and specialized uses, PVC and UPVC polymers are formed.
Based on the classification of PVCs into hard and soft types, their application will also be different. According to the reports, about 55% of polyvinyl chlorides are consumed as hard resins and the rest as soft resins.
